New Delhi , 6 Feb : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged students to make wise and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence, describing it as a powerful tool that can enhance human capabilities rather than replace hard work.
He was speaking during the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha at his residence in New Delhi.
Emphasising the unprecedented access today’s youth have to technology, PM Modi said students are fortunate to grow up in an era rich with digital opportunities. He stressed the need to develop wisdom and discernment while using AI, warning against superficial dependence that delivers only surface-level knowledge.
Explaining practical applications, the Prime Minister said AI can be used to summarise biographies, identify key ideas, or recommend books based on personal interests and age.
Such thoughtful use, he noted, can deepen understanding and support meaningful learning.
PM Modi underlined that AI should serve as an enabler for learning, creativity, and innovation. He urged students to avoid over-reliance and instead use technology to strengthen critical thinking and personal growth.
Student participant Ananya Sharma from Chandigarh echoed this view, describing AI as a supportive tool that can help move forward but cannot directly achieve goals without human effort.
The session reinforced Pariksha Pe Charcha’s evolution from an exam-focused interaction into a nationwide movement promoting confidence, stress-free learning, and holistic development.
PM Modi reiterated that exams are milestones, not destinations.
The interactive event, broadcast live across multiple platforms, connected students nationwide in a pan-India format, with over 6.76 crore participants.
As board examinations approach, the Prime Minister’s message positioned India’s youth to lead confidently in a technology-driven future.
