
Delhi , 19 Mar : Airline operators on Thursday issued travel advisories, alerting passengers about potential disruptions caused by adverse weather across key Indian cities.
IndiGo stated that flights to and from Delhi and Bengaluru may experience slight disturbances due to anticipated thundershowers.
Air India also highlighted continuous rainfall and strong winds affecting the national capital and parts of northern India.
Both carriers confirmed that flight timings could face minor delays, although operational teams remain actively engaged to limit inconvenience.
They urged travellers to verify flight schedules through official websites or mobile applications before departing for the airport.
Air India further advised passengers to allocate additional travel time, warning that wet conditions may slow road traffic around airports.
Meanwhile, residents in Delhi woke to overcast skies, with certain areas recording up to 12.5 mm of rainfall. The minimum temperature settled at 17.6 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the capital will likely witness cloudy conditions throughout the day.
The department predicted one or two spells of light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds ranging between 30-40 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 50 kmph during the afternoon or evening.
The IMD also issued a broader alert, forecasting scattered thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall, including possible hailstorms, across the Western Himalayan region and parts of northwest, central, and eastern India in the coming days.
