
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a high-energy address to the Indian diaspora in Muscat on Thursday, projecting India’s rapid transformation across technology, space, infrastructure, and culture, while urging overseas Indians to remain active partners in the nation’s global rise.
Speaking to a packed community gathering in Oman’s capital, PM Modi highlighted India’s stellar achievements and positioned the country as a confident force of the 21st century.
PM Modi emphasised that India has undergone a significant transformation over the past eleven years through sustained reforms and substantial development.
He spoke of sweeping progress in infrastructure, manufacturing, healthcare, green growth, and women’s empowerment, stressing that India now builds at scale and delivers with speed.
According to PM Modi, the country is no longer catching up with the world is helping set global benchmarks.
Highlighting India’s digital revolution, PM Modi pointed to the success of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which now accounts for nearly half of all digital payments worldwide.
He said the achievement reflects India’s strength in Digital Public Infrastructure and its ability to offer low-cost, high-impact technological solutions to the world.
PM Modi also spotlighted India’s ambitious space programme, including the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission, as proof of the country’s scientific confidence.
PM Modi said India is preparing for the future by nurturing innovation, startups, and entrepreneurship.
He referenced how Indian enterprise leaders, including the new-generation industrial leadership represented by figures such as Anant Ambani, symbolise India’s growing capacity to blend scale, sustainability, and global ambition. He said this ecosystem empowers young Indians everywhere to think big and act boldly.
Diaspora Recognised as Cultural and Economic Bridge
The Prime Minister strongly acknowledged the role of the Indian community abroad in strengthening India’s relations with host countries. He said the diaspora serves as India’s cultural ambassadors and economic bridge, helping build trust and goodwill across borders.
Addressing more than 700 students present at the event, PM Modi congratulated Indian schools in Oman on completing 50 years, calling education a cornerstone of India-Oman ties.
Thanking the community for the vibrant welcome, PM Modi said India’s diversity remains its greatest strength. He noted that this diversity enables Indians to integrate seamlessly into societies around the world while staying deeply connected to their roots.
He appreciated enthusiastic participation in initiatives such as the Bharat ko Janiye quiz, reinforcing the importance of cultural and historical awareness.
PM Modi reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Indians overseas. He assured the diaspora that the government stands ready to support them wherever and whenever needed.
Looking ahead, PM Modi said India and Oman are making their partnership future-ready through cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship exchange.
He urged young Indians to dream fearlessly, learn continuously, and innovate responsibly, so they can contribute not only to India’s growth but also to humanity’s progress.
