New Delhi, 1 Apr : The country’s defense exports have increased exponentially for the first time. In the history of independent India, defense exports have crossed the figure of Rs 21 thousand crores. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced a huge success of the country on the internet media and said that India has achieved this miraculous target by selling its defense products to 84 countries. In this direction, there has been a jump of 32.5 percent in just one financial year.
India made defense exports worth Rs 21,083 crore
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh posted on Twitter on Monday that India has taken an important step towards becoming a major defense exporter from a major defense importer. For the first time, India has made defense exports worth Rs 21,083 crore in the financial year 2023-24. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Defense Ministry took many such steps which came to fruition.
50 companies made important contribution
He said that to increase defense exports, India’s defense manufacturing sector has not only been stimulated but facilities for technological modernization have also been increased. This has created an encouraging environment for government and private sector companies. About 50 Indian companies have contributed significantly in bringing this success story of India’s defense exports to fruition.
