Ayodhya , 22 July : The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will meet in Ayodhya on Wednesday to discuss administrative reforms, including appointing the Ram Temple’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and filling three vacant Trust positions.
Sources said the Trust is unlikely to finalise the CEO’s appointment because the expert committee has not completed screening the applications.
Sources said the three-member expert panel received a large number of applications for the newly created CEO post, delaying the preparation of a final shortlist.
As a result, the committee is unlikely to recommend the final three candidates before the meeting.
The Trust created the CEO post during its July 6 meeting following allegations of embezzlement involving temple offerings.
The new role aims to strengthen professional management, improve financial transparency, enhance security and streamline facilities for devotees.
The CEO will manage the temple’s day-to-day administration, implement the Trust’s decisions, supervise staff and, with the Trust’s approval, appoint the secretary and other administrative personnel.
The Trust will also discuss filling three vacant positions. One vacancy arose after the death of trustee Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, former head of the Ayodhya royal family, while the resignations of former General Secretary Champat Rai and former trustee Dr Anil Mishra created the other two.
Mahant Dinendra Das said the Trust had not informed members about appointing acting General Secretary Krishna Mohan permanently. He said the Trust should choose a person with integrity, transparency and a clean record.
Sources said Krishna Mohan remains a strong contender for the permanent General Secretary’s post, while the Trust is also considering VHP National General Secretary BL Bangda for a vacant trustee position.
The Trust expects the meeting to strengthen the temple’s administrative framework, governance and transparency.
