Bombay HC, other courts get threat mail; turn out to be hoax

Mumbai Dec 18 (UNI) : The Bombay High court, two metropolitan magistrate courts, Bandra court and Esplanade court on Thursday received bomb threats via email, triggering an immediate response from the Mumbai Police and the bomb squad , but it turned out to be a hoax.
According to officials, the proceedings in the court were suspended and premises were evacuated. Officers of the respective police station and the bomb detection and disposal squad rushed to the court premises and carried out a search operation, but nothing was found.
The Mumbai Police have launched an investigation to trace the source of the threatening email, identify the sender, and ascertain the motive behind it.
The Bombay High Court had on December 12 received a similar email threatening to blow it up.
