DODA, Nov 8: Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a massive operation in Doda to dismantle the terror ecosystem by targeting Over Ground Workers, surrendered and released terrorists, and associates of handlers operating from across the border.
As part of the excercise, a large number of suspects have been detained for questioning to trace their links, funding sources, and communication networks connected with terrorist groups.
The action comes as part of a sustained campaign to curb anti-national activities and ensure peace in the region.
A police official said that several individuals have been booked under preventive laws, while further legal proceedings are underway against others found aiding terrorist activities.
He said searches are also continuing at multiple suspected locations, including residences of slain terrorists and areas where previous encounters took place, to expose and eliminate local support networks.
The police have strengthened both human and technical surveillance to monitor potential sleeper cells and online propagandists attempting to radicalize local youth, said the police official.
“Joint operations with central armed forces have also been intensified for coordinated counter-terrorism efforts,” added the police official.
Meanwhile, authorities have reiterated that anyone found involved in providing shelter, logistics, or financial support to terror elements will face strict action under the law.
The ongoing drive aims to protect the community from extremist influence and reinforce lasting peace and security across the district.
