Srinagar, Sep 4: Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh, on Thursday said he has spoken to Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, regarding the flash floods in Rout Marmat and adjoining areas, besides the damage reported along the Doda–Kishtwar road.
In a post on X, Dr. Singh, also appreciated the efforts of the district administration in Bhaderwah town, where timely intervention helped avert major damage.
“The district administration deserves appreciation for timely action in the Bhaderwah area, thus preventing large-scale inundation and damage to public property by breaking choked culverts at Gatha and diverting water channels with heavy machinery in the midst of peak flood,” he wrote.
The Union Minister assured continued monitoring of the situation and coordination with the administration for relief and restoration efforts.
