New Delhi ,21 July : Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Tuesday visited Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital and Lady Hardinge Hospital to meet protesters injured during the violent clashes that erupted in Delhi’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march over the NEET-UG paper leak.
Nadda enquired about the health of the injured and also held discussions with doctors at RML Hospital regarding their condition.
The visit came a day after thousands of supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and students marched from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over recurring examination irregularities, including the NEET-UG paper leak.
On Monday, two CJP representatives met Nadda at his residence and submitted a written memorandum outlining the group’s three demands after detailed discussions.
Speaking briefly on Tuesday while arriving for the NDA’s ‘Mangal Milan’ programme, Nadda said the meeting had gone well but did not comment on whether any assurances had been given.
According to government sources, the delegation first presented its demands verbally before submitting a written memorandum later in the day.
Represented by spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, the CJP sought the release of Sonam Wangchuk without restrictions on his movement, the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, and Rs 1 crore compensation for the families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET 2026 paper leak controversy.
Protest Continues At Jantar Mantar
Government sources said Nadda did not assure the delegation on any of its demands but urged protesters to end their month-long sit-in and help restore normalcy near Parliament.
Despite police dismantling the protest stage and tents at Jantar Mantar after Monday’s violence, demonstrators returned to the site on Tuesday following the CJP’s call to continue the agitation. A heavy deployment of Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force personnel remained in place.
