Itanagar, Dec 31 : Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik called on the Vice President of India, C P Radhakrishnan, at New Delhi on Wednesday and briefed him on a range of issues concerning the state’s development, social progress, and the prevailing security dynamics of the North Eastern region, an official communique said.
During the meeting, the Governor conveyed the warm greetings and good wishes of the people of Arunachal Pradesh to the Vice President and shared an overview of the state’s steady and inclusive development trajectory.
He highlighted the Arunachal Government’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, guided by the State’s people-centric and localised development roadmap, Viksit Arunachal.
Governor Parnaik informed the Vice President about the progress being made in key sectors such as education, health, and social welfare, emphasizing initiatives aimed at improving human development indicators, strengthening healthcare delivery, expanding educational opportunities, and ensuring social security for vulnerable sections of society.
The Governor also briefed the Vice President on the security environment of the North Eastern States, with a specific focus on Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting the State’s strategic importance and the efforts being undertaken to ensure peace, stability, and effective border management.
He underscored the importance of coordinated action among civil administration, security forces, and local communities in maintaining law and order and fostering long-term stability in the region.
Highlighting the role of youth in the state’s transformation, the Governor spoke about the vibrant youth population of Arunachal Pradesh, noting their growing engagement in entrepreneurship, innovation, and start-ups, alongside a deep respect for indigenous art and culture. He said that the discipline, creativity, and strong sense of nationalism among the younger generation are emerging as key drivers of the State’s development and future leadership.
As a symbolic gesture reflecting Arunachal Pradesh’s rich biodiversity, the Governor presented the Vice President with a copy of “Orchids of Arunachal Pradesh”, a meticulously compiled and visually rich publication showcasing the State’s extraordinary diversity of orchid species. The book highlights several rare and endemic varieties of global botanical significance and reflects the State’s commitment to environmental conservation and ecological stewardship.
The Governor also extended a formal invitation to the Vice President to visit Arunachal Pradesh, which was graciously accepted, the communique added. Agency.
