New Delhi , 30 July : A high-level meeting at Bihar Niwas in New Delhi brought together senior leaders from education, public administration, and social organisations to discuss educational reform and nation-building.
Bihar Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.) chaired the meeting on July 29.
The delegation included Professor (Dr) Shahid Akhter, officiating Chairman of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) and National Convenor of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch.
Colonel Tahir Mustafa, Registrar of Jamia Hamdard, and Dr Indresh Kumar, Patron of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch and RSS National Executive member, also attended.
The participants discussed measures to strengthen India’s education system and address national priorities.
They focused on improving minority educational institutions and aligning them with the country’s development agenda.
Professor Akhter highlighted ongoing education reforms under the NCMEI.
These include a digital platform for registering minority educational institutions to improve transparency and administrative efficiency.
Colonel Tahir Mustafa shared his experience of combining military discipline with academic administration. He explained how strategic planning and transparent governance could strengthen higher educational institutions.
His leadership at Jamia Hamdard has received support from faculty and students. Dr Indresh Kumar stressed that quality education and national identity remain essential for India’s progress.
He said educational empowerment can strengthen national unity and social harmony.
Governor Hasnain, who assumed office as Bihar’s 43rd Governor in March 2026, reiterated the importance of higher education in driving long-term development.
Drawing on nearly four decades of military service, he emphasised strategic leadership and institutional excellence.
The delegation thanked the Governor for what it described as an insightful discussion.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen India’s educational ecosystem through collaboration, inclusive governance and sustained reform.
Participants reaffirmed their resolve to contribute to the nation’s long-term development through quality education and effective public institutions.
