
Aug 11 , 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release former President Ram Nath Kovind’s autobiography, Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles, on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister’s Office said the event will take place at 9:30 AM at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. PM Modi will also address the gathering.
The book presents a personal account of Kovind’s life, struggles and achievements. It traces his journey from his early years to his distinguished public career and tenure as India’s 14th President.
The autobiography also explores the values and experiences that shaped his public service.
Kovind was born on October 1, 1945, in Paraunkh village of Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat district. He joined the BJP in 1991.
He later headed the BJP Dalit Morcha from 1998 to 2002 and served as president of the All-India Koli Samaj.
Kovind contested the Ghatampur Assembly seat after joining the BJP but lost. He again contested Bhognipur in the 2007 Assembly elections and faced defeat.
In April 1994, he entered the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. He served two consecutive terms, completing 12 years in Parliament until March 2006.
Kovind became Bihar Governor in 2015 and served until 2017. He then became President of India, serving from 2017 to 2022.
He was the first person from Uttar Pradesh and the first BJP member to occupy India’s highest constitutional office.
