PM Modi Appreciates South Korean President For Warm India-New Zealand Wishes On X

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung for his warm wishes on India-New Zealand friendship and progress.

PM Modi expressed his gratitude in an X post after arriving in Auckland for the final leg of his three-nation tour.

In his X statement, PM Modi wrote, “Thank you President Lee Jae-Myung for your kind wishes. Such thoughtful messages from friends are always cherished.”

President Lee had earlier posted on X, “Wishing for the friendship and progress of both India and New Zealand,” while reposting a video of the warm welcome extended to PM Modi by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon at Auckland Airport.

Prime Minister Luxon personally received PM Modi at the airport in a special diplomatic gesture. The two leaders greeted each other with a warm embrace. The visit marks the first official trip by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand in four decades.

In another X statement, PM Modi described the visit as historic. He thanked PM Luxon for the airport welcome and said he looked forward to comprehensive discussions on the full spectrum of India-New Zealand relations.

He also announced that he would address the Indian community in Auckland.

During the visit, PM Modi will review bilateral cooperation with PM Luxon, focusing on trade, commerce and defence, sectors that have witnessed notable progress over the past two years.

He will also meet leading business and sports personalities before addressing the Indian diaspora on Saturday and returning to India.

The article also recalled President Lee Jae-Myung’s State Visit to India from April 19 to 21 this year. He travelled with senior ministers, officials and top Korean business leaders, making it his earliest visit to India after assuming office.
