
Ramban ,1 April : Demonstrating its firm commitment to citizen-centric policing and efficient public service delivery, District Police Ramban successfully traced and recovered 46 lost mobile phones. The total value of these phones is around Rs 8.6 lakh, and they have been handed over to their rightful owners.
These missing mobile phones have been recovered from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir (UT), and even outside the UT. The seizure operation was carried out by a dedicated team of Cyber Police Station Ramban, led by Inspector Ashiq Hussain. This success of the team was supported by PSI Arun Singh, ASI (TEL) Mohammad Sharif, Sgct (TEL) Ayaz Ahmed and Ct. It was made possible by the significant contribution of Hemant Singh. The team used advanced technical tools and systematic investigation techniques as well as the ‘Central Equipment Identity Register’ (CEIR) portal.
After completing all the necessary verification formalities, the recovered mobile phones have been returned to their rightful owners. The beneficiaries have expressed their sincere gratitude to the Ramban Police for their prompt and professional assistance.
Notably, since the establishment of the Cyber Police Station/Cyber Cell in District Ramban in the year 2024, a total of 240 lost or missing mobile phones, valued at around Rs.40 lakhs, have been successfully traced, recovered, and returned to their owners.
District Police Ramban reiterates its determination to protect the lives and property of citizens, and remains steadfast in its efforts to strengthen public confidence through sensitive and technology-driven policing.
