Israel , 20 Mar : The Israel Defence Forces on Friday announced that Ali Mohammad Naini, spokesperson and head of public relations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in a targeted strike.
The Israeli military stated that Naini had overseen propaganda operations and played a central role in disseminating messaging across the region.
According to the IDF, Naini functioned as a key communicator for the IRGC over the past two years. It is alleged that he contributed to influencing proxy groups and advancing hostile actions against Israel. The announcement was made via X.
Iranian authorities confirmed his death, describing it as ‘martyrdom’ and condemning the strike as a state-sponsored act of terror.
Official statements warned of retaliation following the incident, which reportedly occurred during the closing phase of Ramadan.
Earlier developments indicate a broader escalation.
The IDF claimed it eliminated Esmaeil Khatib in an airstrike in Tehran. It alleged his involvement in intelligence operations and actions during domestic protests.
In another claim, Israel stated that Ali Larijani, a senior figure in Iran’s leadership, was killed alongside his son in a separate strike. Iranian media later corroborated the deaths.
The IDF reported the killing of Gholamreza Soleimani, citing his role in internal security operations.
These incidents signal intensifying hostilities between the two nations, raising concerns over further destabilisation across the Middle East.
