Indore Fire: Cause, Casualties and Rescue Efforts
The fire broke out in the early hours in a three-storey residential building in the Tilak Nagar area and spread rapidly across the premises. The sudden escalation of the flames left residents with very little time to escape.
Authorities said the house belonged to a businessman identified as Manoj. A suspected short circuit linked to an electric vehicle being charged outside the house is believed to have triggered the blaze, which quickly engulfed the structure.
Indore Collector Shivam Verma said that more than ten people were inside the house at the time of the incident. He confirmed that three individuals were rescued, while six others could not be saved.
A team of eight to ten firefighters reached the spot and managed to bring the fire under control after sustained efforts. Their timely response helped prevent the flames from spreading to nearby buildings.
Residents in the area said the family had guests over, which increased the number of people inside the house. A neighbour noted that the fire was first noticed around 3 AM and spread rapidly despite immediate calls for help.
The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, while the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Officials said further details are awaited as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
