New Delhi , 3 Ferb : Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister JP Nadda have welcomed the India–US trade deal, asserting that it will significantly strengthen bilateral relations and unlock fresh economic opportunities for both nations.
Taking to the social media platform X, Amit Shah described the agreement as a major milestone in India–US relations.
He said the deal, which brings down tariffs on Indian goods to 18 per cent, would pave the way for stronger trade ties and mutual growth.
Shah congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump for finalising what he called a historic agreement, saying it will help business between the two countries flourish further and benefit people on both sides.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda also welcomed the development, crediting Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for giving India’s economy renewed global confidence and momentum.
He said the expanded international market for Made in India products would empower youth and farmers, while a robust India–US partnership would generate benefits beyond national borders.
India and the United States reached a trade deal on Monday following a phone conversation between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump.
The agreement lowers US tariffs on Indian goods to 18 per cent and eases Indian trade barriers on American products.
Prime Minister Modi said he was delighted that Made in India products would now enjoy reduced tariffs, thanking President Trump on behalf of India’s people.
He added that cooperation between the world’s largest democracies and major economies unlocks immense opportunities for mutually beneficial growth.
PM Modi also praised President Trump’s leadership on global peace and said he looked forward to taking the India–US partnership to unprecedented heights.
