PM Modi Calls For Active Participation In Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

Delhi , 11 Aug : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged citizens to participate actively in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day and pay tribute to India’s freedom fighters.

Sharing a reel on Instagram, PM Modi encouraged people to celebrate 15 August with pride and renew their commitment to building a developed India.

“Celebrate August 15 with pride, pay tribute to freedom fighters, take a pledge for Viksit Bharat. Har Ghar Tiranga, Ghar Ghar Tiranga, Har Man Tiranga,” he said.

The Prime Minister captioned the post: “Come, let’s make Har Ghar Tiranga a celebration in every home,” as India prepares to mark its 80th Independence Day.

This year’s campaign commemorates 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, India’s national song. PM Modi welcomed the decision to dedicate the initiative to the song’s anniversary and highlighted its enduring message of patriotism and devotion to the motherland.

The government launched Har Ghar Tiranga under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage citizens to bring the national flag into their homes and hoist it during Independence Day celebrations.

The initiative seeks to transform people’s relationship with the national flag from a largely formal and institutional association into a personal expression of national pride.

By displaying the Tricolour at home, citizens celebrate India’s freedom while demonstrating their shared commitment to national unity and nation-building.

Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 combines pride in the national flag with the spirit of ‘Vande Mataram’, encouraging people across the country to participate in Independence Day celebrations.
