Indian Religious Leaders Join Global Tribute To Ayatollah Ali Khamenei In Tehran

Iran , 3 July : A delegation of Indian religious leaders arrived in Iran to pay tribute to the late leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The tribute ceremony was held on Friday at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran, where foreign dignitaries paid their respects.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India stated on social media platform X that an Indian delegation of religious leaders had paid tribute to the martyred leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), religious leaders from India, Russia, China, Türkiye, Iraq, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, and Bangladesh attended the ceremony.

Members of Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah were also present. Islamic scholars and religious intellectuals from Indonesia and Afghanistan, including Ahmad Massoud, son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, participated in the event.

Delegations from Lebanon’s Amal Movement, as well as representatives of resistance fronts from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Morocco, also paid tribute.

Funeral Ceremonies To Continue Until July 9

Cultural activists from Spain, Ecuador, and Bolivia also attended the ceremony at Imam Khomeini Mosalla.

IRNA reported that the tribute ceremonies will continue on Saturday and Sunday, with Khamenei’s body lying in state at the Grand Mosalla for public viewing. A funeral procession will take place in Tehran on Monday, followed by religious rites in the holy city of Qom.

Additional commemorative events are scheduled in Baghdad, Karbala, and Najaf in Iraq before the burial in Mashhad on July 9.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian appealed to the public to participate in large numbers in the funeral ceremonies, describing the occasion as an opportunity to demonstrate national unity and commitment to the ideals of the Islamic system.
