New Delhi , 3 July : Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his greetings on the commencement of the 2026 Amarnath Yatra. He described the sacred pilgrimage as a timeless symbol of Sanatan culture’s unwavering faith, patience, discipline and resilience.
Shah shared his message on X and wished every devotee a safe pilgrimage. He also prayed for a spiritually fulfilling journey to the revered Amarnath Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.
He reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to ensuring a secure and smooth pilgrimage for all participants.
The Home Minister highlighted the extensive arrangements made under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government to facilitate the annual pilgrimage.
He said the administration has established a comprehensive multi-layer security grid to safeguard pilgrims throughout the yatra route.
Enhanced Pilgrim Facilities
Amit Shah highlighted several technology-driven and welfare-focused initiatives introduced for this year’s pilgrimage.
These include QR code-based registration, improved accommodation facilities, strengthened healthcare services and enhanced disaster management mechanisms to ensure better preparedness.
He said these measures will make the pilgrimage safer and more organised. They will also make the journey more convenient for devotees visiting the high-altitude shrine of Lord Shiva.
Amit Shah expressed confidence that the strengthened infrastructure and security arrangements would ensure a smooth pilgrimage for devotees. He also said these measures would preserve the sanctity of the Amarnath Yatra.
Concluding his message on X, Shah invoked ‘Har Har Mahadev’, conveying his prayers for the safety, well-being and successful pilgrimage of every devotee.
